About Kampf Law Group

Judith Kampf is the Principal of Kampf Law Group, PLLC. She has had in excess of twenty-five years of experience in large firms and as a solo practitioner handling business, corporate, tax, wills, trusts, estate planning and estate tax matters, probate and matters for closely held business owners and professional clients and their families.

Judith began her career as the first woman attorney in the corporate law department at the Hartford Insurance Group. She moved to Washington and worked with a large firm in Tacoma and then settled in at a large firm here in Spokane, first as an associate, then as a Principal.

She soon realized that she most liked working for families and closely held businesses where she had the opportunity to build a relationship with the clients and their families so she could offer the best possible advice. Judith is dedicated to using her years of experience to provide personalized client centered service offering practical guidance and suggestions as well as completing needed legal documents.

Judith has been active in the professional community having served on both American Bar Association and Washington State Bar Association Tax Committees, presented at Continuing Education programs, and authored a WSBA Desk Book Chapter on local tax issues involved in the purchase of a business. Locally, Judith was a graduate of Leadership Spokane, served on the Board of both WAMPUM and Interplayers, and is currently a member, corporate sponsor and counsel for the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Business owners and the President of Spokane Referral Network.

Judith is married and has two wonderful daughters. She greatly enjoys outdoor activities and pursuits, including canoeing, biking, camping, is an avid reader, and a beginning knitter.

David Powers, J.D., LL.M.

David Powers of Cogent IP Law Associates and handles trademark, copyright, and other Intellectual Property work. David holds a J.D. degree from Seattle University Law School and an LL.M in Intellectual Property degree from John Marshal School of Law.

He has had many years experience, as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Key Tronic Corporation, and working in a large Seattle firm before becoming a solo practitioner handling such matters as trademark filing, prosecution, disputes, copyright matters on and off the Internet, licensing issues, Internet terms of service, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, as well as some business and corporate matters.

David will use his years of experience to provide personalized client centered service offering practical guidance and suggestions.

David has been active in the professional intellectual property community. He is just completing a year serving as the statewide Chair of the Washington State Bar Associations’ Intellectual Property Section, after having served as Secretary and Chair Elect. He is the co-founders of the Inland Empire Intellectual Property Institute (IEIPI), an annual day long intellectual property seminar bringing leading voices in the national intellectual property arena to discuss current issues. He has chaired and been a regular speaker at this event. He is also involved organizing local events for the Licensing Executives Association. Locally, David was a graduate of Leadership Spokane, served several years on the Board of WAMPUM, and is currently Immediate Past Chair on the WSBA Intellectual Property Section’s Executive Committee.

David is married, and shares two wonderful daughters with Judith. He enjoys outdoor activities, builds and launches rockets with the Spokane Area Rocket Club, photography, and is an avid reader.
